Logging into AWS Access Portal 🔐

With the user account like jimmy.carter, you can now access both Production and Staging accounts through AWS CLI, but what if you want to log in via a browser?

In this guide, we'll walk you through the process of logging into the AWS Access Portal through AWS IAM Identity Center. The Access Portal offers a centralized location where, with a single sign-in, you can access all your assigned AWS accounts and applications.

Steps to Log In

1. Obtain Your AWS Access Portal URL

The AWS Access Portal URL is a unique link where you and your team members can sign in to access AWS resources.

  • Click on the AWS access portal URL.

2. Navigate the AWS Access Portal

Upon successful login, you'll be taken to the AWS Access Portal dashboard.

  • You'll see a list of AWS accounts you have access to, along with the available permission sets (i.e. AdministratorAccess).

3. Access either the Production or Staging account

  • Select an Account (i.e. Staging):
  • Click on a Permission Set (i.e. AdministratorAccess):

You will be redirected to the AWS Management Console for the selected account.

4. Logging Out

  • When you're finished, remember to log out.

⚠️ Tips

  • Bookmark the Access Portal URL: Save the URL for quick access in the future.
  • Use Secure Passwords: Ensure your password is strong and unique.
  • Enable MFA: For enhanced security, enable Multi-Factor Authentication on your account.
